In order to take photos with the OkioCam document camera from browser-based platforms such as Canvas, you may need to set the Okiocam as the default camera for your browser.

At Great Hearts Online, our recommended browser is Chrome, and the following guidance is shown in the Chrome browser. You can take similar steps with other browsers, such as Microsoft Edge.

Please note: You should only need to set the Okiocam as the default camera for your browser once (not every time you use it).

Step-by-step Instructions to Set Okiocam as Default Camera in Browser Settings

Step 1: Plug in the document camera

Make sure the Okiocam document camera is plugged into the USB port of your device before proceeding with the rest of the steps!

Step 2: In your Chrome browser window, click on the three dots in the upper, right-hand corner and select "Settings"

Step 3: Search "camera" in the browser settings window and click "Site Settings"

Step 4: Scroll to the Permissions section, and click "Camera"

Step 5: Use the dropdown menu to select "OKIOCAM S"
